Road Transportation & Inland Haulage
Reliable container drayage and full-truckload (FTL) coordination connecting major ports, ICDs, and warehouses through our transporter network.
A container that clears the port and then sits at the gate waiting for a truck is still a delayed shipment — the ocean or air leg finishing on time doesn't matter if the last stretch by road doesn't move with it.
EMAJ Freight arranges container drayage and full-truckload transport connecting V.O. Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin) and our other agent ports with Inland Container Depots, factories and warehouses. We coordinate the booking, documentation and delivery through a network of subcontracted transporters.
How This Actually Works
Being direct about the structure, because it affects who you're actually dealing with:
We don't operate our own truck fleet. Road transport — container drayage, full-truckload movement, last-mile delivery — is arranged through a network of subcontracted transporters, coordinated by our team in Thoothukudi.
For you as a shipper, the practical difference is small: you still get one point of contact for booking, documentation and delivery confirmation, and the transporter is selected and managed on your behalf. The difference is in who owns and drives the vehicle — and we'd rather say that plainly than let the page imply an owned fleet that doesn't exist.
What We Arrange
Documentation
Road movement in India runs on its own paperwork, checked before the truck is booked rather than after it's loaded:
Why Work With Us
Experienced hands, not a dispatch board.
EMAJ Freight is run by a team with 9+ years of hands-on experience in international freight forwarding. That experience is what actually gets a delayed truck rebooked or a gate hold-up resolved, not a script.
One point of contact.
Booking, documentation and delivery confirmation are coordinated by the same team handling your ocean or air freight and customs clearance — no separate relationship with a transporter to manage yourself.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does EMAJ own its own trucks?
No. Road transport is arranged through a network of subcontracted transporters, coordinated by our team. You get one point of contact; the vehicle and driver come from our transporter network.
What types of road transport do you arrange?
Full container load (FCL) drayage and full-truckload (FTL) movement, including specialized trailer configurations where the cargo needs them, arranged through our transporter network.
Can you move cargo between ports, ICDs and warehouses?
Yes — port-to-ICD, factory-to-port, and last-mile delivery to warehouses and distribution points, coordinated end to end.
Do you handle the paperwork for road movement?
Yes. We coordinate Lorry Receipt/Goods Consignment Note issuance and e-way bill generation, arrange delivery order and gate pass coordination, and confirm proof of delivery.
Can you combine road transport with ocean or air freight and customs clearance?
Yes — that's the point of one point of contact. We coordinate the inland leg alongside your ocean or air freight and customs clearance rather than handing you off to a separate transporter relationship.
